Youth tournament dedicated to the memory of Stepan Avagyan
2025-02-19Chess Academy of Armenia in cooperation with Chess Academy Club is organizing “Stepan Avagyan Memorial” International Youth Open Chess Tournament, which will take place from June 28 to July 4, 2025. The tournament is in a 9 round Swiss system which will be held in different age groups.
The tournament venue is Jermuk, “Jermuk Ashkharh” Health Centre.
The total prize fund of the tournament is 2 100 000 AMD. Participants taking 1-3rd places during the tournament will be awarded with medals and diplomas.
PARTICIPATION
In the tournament of boys and girls U-18, participants with the first category, a national and international rating are eligible to participate national and international (FIDE) rating will be calculated during the tournament. Only the participants with FIDE ID can participate in the tournament.Participants of the tournament must have a FIDE ID, or else apply to the Armenian Chess Federation until June 23 or follow the link: https://chessfed.am/en/fide-registration-form․
Boys and girls under 12 - at least II category (born in 2014 and for participants from the regions - III category)
Boys and girls under 10 - at least III category (born in 2016 and for participants from the regions - IV category)
Boys and girls under 8 - at least IV category (born in 2018 and limited number of participants from regions without category are eligible)
U10 and U12 boys and girls’ tournament national rating will be calculated․
TIME CONTROL
Boys and girls U18 and U12 groups - 90 minutes for the whole game with 30 seconds increment for each move.
Boys and girls U10 and U8 - 60 minutes for the whole game with 30 seconds increment for each move.
Default time of the tournaments is 30 minutes.

The registration of the participants should be done online by clicking on the REGISTRATION button in the official website of the tournament, then filling all the fields and making payment. In case of encountering any difficulty, you can transfer the entry fee to our bank account.
